Air source heat pumps
Want to make a cleaner, greener choice for your home heating that is good for both your wallet and the environment?
Why not consider an energy-efficient heat pump? The smart choice for a cosy home with plenty of hot water on hand.
Heat pumps are an excellent substitute for gas boilers. Heat pumps use the energy that exists naturally in the air around us to heat your home and water. There will be no more reliance on gas, oil, or LPG.
How does air source heat pumps work?
Heat from the air is absorbed into a fluid at a low temperature. This fluid is then passed through a compressor, where its temperature is raised, before being transferred to the house's heating and hot water circuits. Air source heat pump systems are classified into two types.
Air-to-water
Heat is distributed by an air-to-water system through your wet central heating system. Heat pumps operate much more efficiently at lower temperatures than traditional boiler systems. As a result, they are better suited for underfloor heating systems or larger radiators that provide heat at lower temperatures for longer periods of time.
Air-to-air
To heat your home, an air-to-air system generates warm air that is circulated by fans.
