Loft Insulation
In an uninsulated home, one-quarter of the heat is lost through the roof. So Insulating your loft or attic is a good way to reduce heat loss and lower your heating bills.
Loft insulation should pay for itself many times over in its 40-year lifespan
How does Loft insulation work?
Most loft insulation materials work by preventing heated air from passing through the material. The matting's fibres trap air within them.
When you heat your home with central heating or a fireplace, much of the heat escapes through your roof. Heat rises and there is no way to stop it - science!
Heat escapes through your roof via conduction as well as convection. By installing loft insulation in this manner, you can significantly reduce the amount of heat that passes through your ceiling, into the loft space, and out into the open air outside.
